Valla Beach Health Centre Logo

The triangle represents Picket Hill, which lies inland of Valla Beach near the South Pacific Ocean on the Mid North Coast of New South Wales and it is of cultural and spiritual significance to the Gumbaynggir.

The Gumbaynggir nation of the Coffs area extends from as far north as Grafton (Clarence River) to the Nambucca River in the south then west to Armidale and eastward to the Pacific coast. Which makes the Gumbaynggirr tribe one of the largest in NSW. Evidence indicates people have lived in the area for many thousands of years.

The snake represents the rainbow serpent who is central to Indigenous cultural belief Australia wide.

The circles represent the circles of life we move within. Initially we are connected in larger circles at birth but as we grow into adolescence we become individuals and loose our sense of dreaming and purpose. As we progress into adulthood we re-discover our connections to community, our spirit and our purpose. Each circle weaves into the structure of DNA which is our blueprint, our history, our biochemistry and bubbles of life.

The green colour is the colour of healing.
